Thanksgiving Forecast

My pastor read this at church on Sunday and I thought it was great!

Thanksgiving Forecast
Turkeys will thaw in the morning, then warm in the oven to an afternoon high near 190 F. The kitchen will turn hot and humid, and if you bother the cook, be ready for a severe squall or cold shoulder. During the late afternoon, the cold front of a knife will slice through the turkey, causing an accumulation of three or four inches on plates. Mashed potatoes will drift across one side while the cranberry sauce creates slippery spots on the other. Please pass the gravy. A weight watch and indigestion warning have been issued for the entire area, with increased stuffiness around the beltway. During the evening, the turkey will diminish and taper off to leftoevers, dropping to a low of 34 F in the refrigerator. Looking ahead to Friday and Saturday, high pressure to eat sandwiches will be established. Flurries of leftovers can be expected both days with a 50% chance of scattered soup late in the day. We expect a warming trend where the soup develops. By early next week, eating pressure will be low as the only wish left will be the bone.

Adios!

Let's Be Thankful

Today I found out about Hometown Burritos burning down and the fire taking the lives of three individuals... one of whom I knew pretty well. And it just reminds me that we never know when our time is going to be up here on earth. You know, it's almost thanksgiving... and I have noticed that it seems like people have forgotten about it and just decided Christmas needed to come early. I noticed Christmas decorations were out the day after Halloween!! What happened to taking a day out of our chaotic lives and to just be thankful? We need to be so thankful for every second we get to spend with our loved ones. Even when you come home from work and find that the dishes are piled high, there are tracks of dirt on rug, and clothes are thrown all over the bedroom, before you scream and yell, you need to stop and be thankful that someone is there to make those messes!! Because in just a split second, that could be gone. And what maybe used to seem like a mess is now something you long for day after day...

Anyway, I just had that thought... and I encourage everyone that reads this to stop right now and thank God for the tiny little things He has given you that you don't normally recognize on a daily basis.

Love and Kisses

Finally a new post!

Hey hey! It's been forever since I have written anything on here! Things have been busy, as usual, but they are finally starting to slow down. I only have 12 actual class days left until break. And guess what!?!? I already decorated (partially) for Christmas! Haha... I know what you are thinking... "So soon??" Yeah. I did it. I was looking at my calendar, and I literally am doing something every single weekend until Christmas. So I had no choice!! :D So I am going put up a few pics from the last couple of months. The first ones are of Tino at Halloween and the others are me and Ryan decorating for our first Christmas married.

Lots of love!

Me and Dustin

I was listening to this song the other day, and for some reason it reminded me a lot of me and Dustin. Now, not all of it pertains to us, but some of it does! Here it is:

Skillet - Those Nights
From the album Comatose

I remember when
We used to laugh
About nothing at all
It was better than going mad
From trying to solve all the problems we're going through
Forget 'em all
Cause on those nights we would stand and never fall
Together we faced it all
Remember when we'd

Chorus:
Stay up late and we'd talk all night In a dark room lit by the tv light
Through all the hard times in my life
Those nights kept me alive
We'd listen to the radio play all night
Didn't want to go home to another fight
Through all the hard times in my life
Those nights kept me alive

I remember when We used to drive anywhere but here
As long as we'd forget our lives
We were so young and confused that we didn't know
To laugh or cry
Those nights were ours
They will live and never die Together we'd stand forever

See... now me and Dustin used to stay up late and talk all night, and usually the dark room was lit by the tv light! In the summer we would always sleep in the living room and dare each other to stay up until midnight (oh WOW!), and then on the day before school started, we would stay in the same room and talk about how we thought school was going to be the next year. We did this even through high school! And we always talked about the interesting things in life and shared a lot of our deepest thoughts, desires and dreams. And sometimes we even chuckled at ourselves because we are so much alike in the way that we portray things. It's crazy to see where we are now compared to where we were convinced we would be back then.

And so this song just reminds me of me and Dust. I just wanted to share that.

What's Happenin'!

Hello world!

I haven't actually typed a blog in a long time, so I thought I would fill you in on what's going on. Obviously, the most recent thing is that we got a puppy named Tino. He is a Chihuahua. Tino is a very sweet and adoreable puppy, but since last night was his first night in his new home, he was very scared. He cried for about an hour after we went to bed because we have to pin him in the kitchen so he wouldn't go to the bathroom everywhere. So we didn't get very much sleep... Hopefully he gets used to it!! But he is so smart! He already knows to use the puppy pads. Both times I put him in his confined space, he went potty on his pad!! And no where else! It makes me so happy!

Besides getting this puppy, a lot of other stuff has been going on. I got a job as the secretary at my church, which is really an answer to prayers! And I also just started school. My mind is having a difficult time adjusting to all this change!

Anyway, I need to go because I am sitting here at church waiting for service to start!

Kisses!

Jessica's Bridal Pictures

These are Jessica's Bridal portraits! Ryan and I took them and I fixed them. These are a few of my favorites. Sorry about the water mark. I decided that it's probably time I start doing one since we do so many pictures. I don't want them to be stolen!! :D
